Murphys originated from the gold rush-era and is located in the central Sierra Nevada foothills between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park.

Murphys is a town like no other alive with art galleries, live theater, boutique shopping, high-quality cuisine and nearly two-dozen wine tasting rooms all within strolling distance along its charming Main Street.

This active community organizes big events and small, exclusive gatherings backdropped by its picturesque scenery. You’ll find arts in abundance from hands-on classes to performances and showings, hand-crafted artisanal jewelry, sculpture plus the perfect scenery for painters and photographers. It’s an inspiration for the creative and has attracted makers and artists from all over California.

Located at approximately the 2,100 foot elevation level, Murphys is ideally situated above the central valley fog, yet generally below the snow line. Year-round weather is pleasant and mile, with temperatures ranging from the mid-30’s to the 60’s during the winter months, and 70’s to 90’s during the summer.
